MODIFICATIONS

We can perform modifications to units to meet your specific needs. Various modifications we make include:

  • mast height reduction (mast cuts)

  • manufacture and installation of  forklift masts to loaders

  • modifying overhead guards to suit drive in racking

  • installation of four directional steering

  • manufacture and installation of sideshifts and fork positioners

  • manufacture and installation of cabins including windscreen frames

  • Installation of heater and air conditioning units to cabins

All modifications are Engineered and designed to comply with Australian Standards.

Below are some examples of the work we can do for you:

An electric pallet truck modified to lift large paper rolls without damaging the  product.

The straddle legs, unit lift height and capacity have been custom designed to suit material size.

A customised carriage fitted with 7T coil lifting probe, side shifting carriage, fork positioning forks and quick release fork cradles.

The mast has also been modified to suit maximum lift in low clearance work areas such as within shipping containers.

This pallet truck has been custom designed and built to tow cars off production lines. The front section is positioned under the wheels when the arms are in the open position and then the arms hydraulically close around the wheels. The car can then be safely lifted and towed into desired position. The front section rotates around the wheel centre so that the unit can be freely manoeuvred.

A commonly used unit in the brick industry is articulated loaders for their ability to operate on rough terrain, which is most construction sites. But generally these units are used for earth moving and come supplied with a bucket. We manufacture fork carriages that attach directly to the load arms to reduce weight on the front and minimise distance to load centre. This allows the units to be used to lift brick pallets and become a versatile rough terrain forklift. We can also add counterweight to the tail end to increase stability of the unit and add tie down points for safe transporting of the unit.

All of these modifications sometimes are far from what the truck was originally designed to do so with every modification we will test for its new stability characteristics and check that it still complies to Australian Standards in this regard.

This articulated loader has had its loading arms removed and fitted with a mast to bring its load centre closer to the body of the truck and hence increase its capacity. Also by manufacturing hinged fork arms to fit we can reduce the length of the unit even further so it doesn't take up much space on a trailer. This means more goods can be transported with each load.

Modifications can be made to overhead guard structures to prevent damage to posts when accessing drive in racking. Trying to squeeze between narrow racking can potentially destabilise the racking and damage the overhead guard. Damaging the overhead guard can severely hinder its ability to protect a driver from falling objects.

The safe alternative is to alter the guard posts to prevent such damage. We can design and implement this modification without compromising the overhead guards integrity.

This fork carrier has been completely remanufactured to allow for a large flexibility of fork positions. The fork carriage also collapses when the forks are positioned to the centre to allow for narrow access.

This particular unit is used to lift heavy reinforced concrete pipes in quantities of 3, 4 or 1 at a time. This can cut handling time and save money.

This fork carrier has been specially manufactured to work in a brick yard. Because there is a lot of dust present from the brick manufacturing and handling process a conventional side shifting carriage is subjected to a lot of wear problems on the bushing. This unit is designed to slide on a solid pin so we can install bushes that have a larger contact area and brushes that help keep the abrasive dust out. Regreasing is also simple with grease nipples installed and regreasing pushes any contaminants out.
