ATTACHMENTS
We manufacture a range of attachments to suit all materials handling equipment. Our range includes safety cages, forklift slippers, carpet poles, coil probes and more. All of our attachments are designed and manufactured in accordance with Australian Standard AS2359.1-1995 Powered Industrial Trucks Part 1 General Requirements.
We can design and manufacture any type of attachment to suit your specific requirements. Some of our typical attachments are as shown below:
Work platforms
Work platforms are also referred to as maintenance platforms. The standards stipulate that their use shall be limited to situations where it is necessary to elevate personnel to perform special tasks of short duration and where it is not possible to use a scaffold or specially designed devices. The platforms shall not be used for order picking or production activities. Due to standard requirements they are limited to a platform size of 1200x1200mm and a load of 250kg, including a maximum of two personnel. Some of our safety features are anchor points for personnel harnesses, inward opening and self closing doors to prevent accidental opening during lift, checkered floor, toe guard to prevent tools from falling from height and a high back to prevent personnel from being struck by overhead obstructions. Optional harness & lanyard can be provided.
Fork-arm extensions / Slippers
The fork arm is required to be at least 60% of the extension length to comply with standards. Extensions beyond this limit shall be agreed between the truck manufacturer and the user, and be subject to hazard analysis. Also, the tolerance on the pocket size must be within 10% of the fork-arm to fit within. The rated capacity of the fork-arm extensions are determined with the intended fork-arm as the supporting base. This is why gathering the correct data is critical to safety. Sometimes safety isn't as simple as buying off the shelf.
Various lifting jib attachments
All our attachments are made in accordance to AS 2359 and other relevant standards. The standards state that the capacity of lift truck attachments must be at least equal to the rated capacity of the truck, fitted with the attachment, taking into account standard fork-lift truck operating conditions. When using a hook type lifting jib the trucks rated capacity should only taken as 80% of its capacity at that operating load center due to the potentially higher overturning moment of handling a freely swinging load. We can design and build attachments correctly based on your lift truck capacity at a competitive price.
Load spreaders are a difficult product to provide as an off the shelf product. They are designed to carry awkward shaped loads which changes the lifting load centre and the stability of the truck. Also the width and rigidity of the product being lifted changes the load ratio on the inside forks as opposed to the outside forks. Most standard designed load spreaders assume a uniform load over all fork-arms and a 600mm load centre. This is rarely the case in reality. Our load spreaders are made to order so we take into consideration the shape and centre of the load. The fork-arms can be designed around fixed packers that may obstruct handling and various size back supports can be manufactured to help stabilize the load.
Lifting probes
Our lifting probe attachments are made from the highest quality tensile steels. They are correctly designed and rated to cope with your specific demands. The wrong carpet pole selection will destabilize your truck and reduce your actual lifting capacity. We have a long and safe track record when it comes to our attachments because we give you what you need to complete the job correctly and safely. Also we use correct welding practices for each material we handle. High tensile steel cannot be welded and even certain levels of heat will jeopardize its strength. The wrong welding and mounting techniques can create a dangerous attachment. This is where experience is vital to safety. We offer you a variety of mounting options to complement you requirements.
Quick hitch attachments
We have made many quick hitch attachments for all sorts of applications from log grabs to hay spikes to lift jibs. They predominantly attach to front loaders, telehandlers and skid steers of varying capacity. Our meticulous design and build quality means that your attachment will fit perfectly and easily every time and have the capacity to deal with the job at hand.
